As you make your prayers for departed loved ones this All Souls Day, I hope you will also consider these words of our Holy Father:

The last of the spiritual works of mercy, praying for the living and the dead is especially meaningful in the month of November, when we commemorate all the faithful departed.

Let us open our hearts to the Holy Spirit, who knows our deepest desires and hopes, and embrace in our prayer all those in any kind of need.

You have always been a blessing to the poor in the Deep South. Today, I hope God will again move you to commemorate All Souls Day by showing your love to His children with the greatest needs.

Our friends, like Linda Wilson who urgently needs $1,226 to pay her mother’s funeral expenses, and the hungry families and children who depend on us every day, can’t wait for help. So please be as generous as you can.

Thank you, as always, for being an irreplaceable friend to His children in need. May He bless and keep you always.
